He was dressed in a very lovely looking tux and being the finest of my parents’ children, looked very handsome.
But I was surprised to see him.
As a matter of fact, I had not seen him in more than 8 months as he was a student and rarely came around my home. As long as I sent him money, he didn’t really need me.
I was more surprised when I saw that Philip had a bouquet of flowers in his hands and was smiling at me sheepishly.
“Philip, what are you doing in my house”?
He had smiled that stupid sheepish smile at me. “Bros, good evening”.
“Good evening. You didn’t answer my question. What are you doing here?”
Before he could respond, Ore walked down the stairs and spoke. “He is here to see me”.
I was surprised but not necessarily bothered.
Why?
Because I had noticed right from the start of our relationship that Ore and Philip had hit it off somehow. But why would I be worried because my kid brother and my wife are close? Stuff like that always happen, right?
Well, my entire life was about to unravel and end that very night; Valentine Day, 2021. February 14, 2021.
My own wife had invited my kid brother to join us in a thr33s0m3 on Valentine Day!
Because they had been sleeping with each other for almost the same the period Ore and I have been together!
This was the big surprise my wife wanted to give me!
When I got angry that day, Ore was surprised.
She felt I would be happy to know she had not cheated on me with an outsider but with my own brother.
Oh my gosh! That I didn’t kill Ore and Philip that night is a testament to my patience!
Anyway, everything about marriage and family ended that night for me.
I later found out my mother was aware of the illicit affair between Ore and Philip and kept quiet about it because she, according to her, “didn’t want to scatter the family!”
The family is scattered now. I am separated from Ore and working towards securing my divorce.
I have asked for a paternity test on Michelle.
I doubt she is my child!
I have cut off my kid brother and other members of my extended family forever.
I now hate people and cannot trust anyone ever again!
So now you see why I hate and curse Valentine Day.
But this is me and my own story. You can go out and celebrate that cursed day.
I know many will come back crying!
Like I do every night in my bedroom!!!
