World football governing body’s boss, Gianni Infantino has commended the dedication of Nigeria’s Kunle Solaja to  the World Cup. Both met at the 52nd birthday of FIFA Council member, Amaju Pinnick.

The Nigerian FIFA Council member then pointed out Solaja among the power-packed attendees at the birthday ceremony, saying he is the most capped African journalist at the World Cup.

While Solaja, chipped in that he was one of the two Africans holding the record, Pinnick, remarked  “Kunle is Black, while Mark Gleeson is White, making Kunle Solaja the only black man on the podium”

He later told Infantino that Kunle Solaja is the encyclopedia of football in Nigeria and the most objective football writer in the country.

“He may not be rich materially…as he practices his profession with dignity”

To this, Infantino responded that that is the type the world deserves…those who are truly professional in their callings and hopes to see the Nigerian journalist in future World Cup editions.
