Dr. Yemi Olorunwalehinmi Ebenezer Ajimatanrareje was born on September 15, 1957, in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Nigeria. His father, Pa Joel Adebusoye Ajimatanrareje, was a devoted Christian and a cocoa merchant while his mother, Chief (Mrs.) Christianah Sijuwade was a trader plenipotentiary.

 Dr. Ajimatanrareje attended St. Andrew’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and Victory College, Ikare, Ondo State for his early education. He studied at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and proceeded to the University of Lagos where he obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mass Communication. While at UNILAG, he was the Public Relations Officer of the University’s Students’ Union in 1981-1982. After graduation, he worked with African Concord weekly magazine and Lintas Advertising Agency in Lagos.

Life in the United States

In 1993, he travelled to California in the United States. In December 1994, he began his banking career with the Bank of America in the San Francisco region. He distinguished himself quickly at the Bank. He won many awards and corporate recognitions.  He rose to the level of a manager in 1999.

His Call into Ministry

That same year, 1999, he heard God’s voice at a Sunday worship service in Marin City, California, calling him to “preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.” He obeyed God and resigned from being a bank manager to pursue preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ full-time. In preparation for Ministry, he studied at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, San Francisco, and the Jacksonville Theological Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida where he obtained a Master’s of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry respectively in 2002 and 2006. He was listed in the prestigious “Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 2002.”

Ministry Assignment

Dr. Yemi Ajimtanrareje has impacted many lives, families, schools and hospitals in the United States, Haiti, the Republic of Benin, and Nigeria. He has planted churches in three countries for the salvation of souls. He planted and pastored Jesus the Christ Church in Miami, Florida. He also planted the Hope Missionary Evangelical Church in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He planted Open Heavens Ebenezer Church in Ile-Oluji and Lagos, Nigeria respectively.

Dr. Ajimatanrareje is the founding pastor of Open Heavens Community Church, Brentwood, California where he is currently the Senior Pastor. In 2018, he led Open Heavens Community Church, Brentwood, California, to help hire a medical doctor for the Baptist Hospital in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Nigeria which had operated for about four years without a doctor. His Church also paid the doctor’s salary for 18 months which helped revive the hospital. He is also involved in feeding widows every month in Ile-Oluji.

Dr. Ajimatanrareje is the author of three books: “40 Days to a New Beginning,” “Release for All Captives” & “21 Days of Intimate Fellowship with God. He is a passionate preacher, a public speaker, a philanthropist, an evangelist, a journalist, a counselor, and a prayer stalwart. He is married and has two children. He resides in California.
