Supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate have given sharp reactions to reports of his alleged arrest.

GWG.ng reports that the speculation of the arrest which trended late on Friday evening was, however, disclaimed by one of the more reputable supporters of Obi, David Hundeyin in a tweet.

The tweet was what attracted many other supporters to the rumour which ironically was fanned by some other supporters of Obi.

One of the supporters tweeting at Dr Folaseye (ENT/Head &Neck Surgeon) was identified as among those who tweeted about the arrest and came under attack from fellow supporters who attacked the tweeter user for spreading false information.

GWG.ng investigation showed that Dr Folaseye has since deleted all tweets in the account.

Debunking the news of the arrest, David Hundeyin said:

Peter Obi was not arrested or even invited by any security agency today. I have personally confirmed this from his protocol team, so kindly refrain from spreading rumours

GWG.ng gathered that at the time of the alleged arrest that Peter Obi was in Owerri as a guest of Emeka Ihedioha who was burying his mother on Friday.

If they’re using their grapevine propaganda service to test people’s reactions to this fake news of Peter Obi’s arrest, I hope they know that one person can cook food for the entire community, but if the community decides to cook for that one person, he’ll run.
