Life! Life is sad indeed. Or else, my own blood brother would not stand right before me and tell me he wants to have sx* with my wife this valentine!

I am talking about my own blood brother o. My older brother born right before I was born. The one who is supposed to take care of me, his younger brother.

This nonsense wouldn’t have happened if God had blessed me with even a quarter of the wealth he blessed Obinna with.

Obinna had several nicknames, all surrounded by money!

Obi-ego! That was his favorite. Because every time he came around our town, everything about him smelt of money. Obinna was rich. So rich that we used to make a joke in the family that Dangote is deceiving himself about being wealthy when Obinna could easily buy him, his factories and even the refinery and not blink!

One other thing that made Obinna different from me is that he had a very cold and determined heart whenever he wanted something. Obinna could sell off his two kidneys if it would make him money.

That was why when our mother died suddenly even though she was not sick and shortly after, he became even wealthier, most people started peddling the rumor that he must have sacrificed our mother for rituals because of how stupendous his wealth rose after our mother’s death. But I stayed above such rumors and refused to believe my brother could have done such a thing.

But I am poor. In fact, I am sure even my brother’s drivers and security guards are more comfortable than I am.

I know people in our town used to mock me for being poor while my older brother is a billionaire. But it is not in my nature to worry about any of such things. I believe God blesses people differently and if my own destiny was for me to be poor while my brother is wealthy, so be it.

So things started to unravel in my life when my brother visited our town last December and stayed in his palatial mansion. Before then, my wife, Nkiru, had started disturbing me seriously to talk to my brother to assist me. In fact, she told me she had married me because of the fact that I am the younger brother to a billionaire.

So we had visited Obinna in his house and he had called me aside to ask me what I wanted him to do for me.

Believe me, I was both surprised and happy.

Surprised that my brother had, at last, decided to do something for me and was now asking me about what I wanted to do. Happy because I saw his request as a sign that my poverty was about to be a thing of the past. After all, he was well known to help others but not me, his own blood brother. So if he wanted to help me now on his own volition, it made my heart dance for joy.

So I had expressly told him about my desire to leave my mechanic workshop and go into car importation. I had done my background checks and feasibility studies. All I needed was some money in my bank account to help me facilitate the start of the business.

I told him I needed just ten million naira to start off. Even if he wanted it to be a loan, I didn’t mind. I knew ten million naira was like ten kobo to him and expected him to laugh and offer to give me more.

Obinna had kept quiet for a long period and contemplated before he stared at me and his next words shocked me to my bone marrow.

“I am going to give you fifty million naira, Chukwudi. But on one condition”.

The mere mention of the fifty million naira from Obinna had shocked me to my bone marrows. So much so that if he wanted one of my kidneys, I would have gladly handed it to him.
