David Raya: The first time he’s played on this stage and it showed. Why, oh why did he come racing out to clear that ball? The moment that swung the evening. 5.
Ben White: Got forward superbly on the evening and probably should have grabbed a goal with the scores at 1-0. Tracked back well too and did brilliantly to stop Sane from making it three. 7.
William Saliba: A rare occasion where the Frenchman showed his tender age. Didn’t need to dive in for the penalty and looked desperate to make amends for most of the night after that. 5.

Gabriel: Not helped by the unsettling presence of Raya dashing out, but should have kept his composure better for the first goal. A little ragged after that. 5.
Jakub Kiwior: A rough night for the Pole. He wasn’t at fault for the first goal, but got far too tight on Sane time and again which led to the penalty. Arteta gave him the vote of confidence to start at left-back, but he has probably lost his status as the first choice in that position now. 5.
Jorginho: An unusually frenetic evening for the Italian. Couldn’t control the game from deep, dived in in the lead-up to the penalty and was one of many who were guilty of playing the game with too much emotion. 5.
Martin Odegaard: Was dominating the game before the Bayern equaliser. Lost his influence as Arsenal gained composure, but showed some nice touches as they found their feet again in the second half. 6.
Declan Rice: A calming presence in the middle of the park when Arsenal lost their heads a little. The duel he won was crucial to the equaliser. 6.
Bukayo Saka: A real bright spark offensively for Arsenal topped off with a well-taken goal. Had Davies’ number for much of the game. Maybe fell into the trap of playing too much on emotion when the momentum shifted in the first half though. 7.
Kai Havertz: Very quiet on the night. Did well to play through White for his chance but not that influential otherwise. Showed his versatility when back in midfield later on. 6.
Gabriel Martinelli: Relatively quiet on the night as Arsenal favoured the right-hand side with their approach play. Got into the game more after Zinchenko came on, but hit his limit after about the hour mark. 6.
SUBSTITUTES –
Oleksandr Zinchenko: Many would perhaps have preferred Tomiyasu to come on at half time but Zinchenko showed his value to the squad. Brought some much-needed composure on the ball to the Arsenal build-up and was pretty good in defending Sane one-vs-one. 7.
Gabriel Jesus: Showed why he is so valuable to Arsenal on these big occasions. Brought fight and presence up front along with some real quality to pick out Trossard for the equaliser. 7
Leandro Trossard: Yet another crucial goal in the Champions League from the Belgian. Brought a threat down the left that had been lacking before and worked well off the ball. 7.
Thomas Partey: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
