Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has led a protest on Wednesday, September 29, 2023, outside the Ikorodu Magistrate Court as the coroner’s inquest into the mysterious death of popular singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, resumed.
The inquest, which began earlier in the month, seeks to uncover the true cause of the singer’s sudden death.
Photos shared on social media captured Mohbad’s family members, including his parents, Joseph and Abosede Aloba, arriving at the court separately to attend the resumed proceedings.

The family has been vocal in their quest for justice following Mohbad’s unexpected death on September 12, 2023.
He was buried the following day, stirring widespread public outcry and demands for a thorough investigation.
Mohbad’s body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
However, the autopsy yielded no tangible findings, apart from the presence of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in his system.
While the drug was detected, the concentration was not considered high enough to have caused his death.
Displeased with the autopsy results, Mohbad’s family rejected the findings, calling for an independent investigation.
According to Monisola Odumosu, a member of the Aloba legal team, a more comprehensive two-part autopsy is currently underway, with the first phase completed and the second phase focusing on toxicology and histology tests.
Outside the courthouse, Yomi Fabiyi, joined by a group of supporters, staged a peaceful protest, urging the authorities to ensure that justice is served for the late singer.
Fabiyi, a vocal advocate for transparency in the entertainment industry, carried placards demanding accountability and clarity on the case.
Conspicuously absent from the court proceedings were Naira Marley and Sam Larry, two individuals widely considered key witnesses in the case.
Despite being summoned to appear, neither was present in court on Wednesday, further fueling public rumour surrounding the circumstances of Mohbad’s death
