Old Students of the CMS Grammar School Lagos have celebrated teachers who taught diligently with the first-ever outstanding Teachers’ Award of the 80s. Among the beneficiaries of the meritorious award was Mr. YinkaSalard Akinterinwa, a Physics teacher who taught in the school between 1984 and 89.

This prestigious award was presented to Akinterinwa at the school’s 165th Founder’s Day Celebration which took place recently at the Naval Dockyard Reception Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos. The CMS Grammar School is the first secondary school in Nigeria as it was founded on the 6th of June 1859.

Col. Ademola Onasanya (rtd.) eulogized Mr. Yinkasalard Akinterinwa. He remembered that Akinterinwa taught Physics at the HSC level at a time when there was a dearth of Physics teachers.
