The World Health Summit has opened applications for its 2026 fully funded Stipend and Fellowship Programme targeted at participants from low- and middle-income countries, including Nigeria.

The announcement was made via the organisation’s official X account, inviting eligible candidates to apply for the global health event scheduled to hold in Berlin, Germany.

The summit will take place from October 11 to 13, 2026, bringing together stakeholders across the global health ecosystem.

The World Health Summit said the fellowship will support up to 15 participants, including individuals with lived experience in global health.

  • According to the statement, the programme will cover round-trip economy flights to and from Berlin, as well as four nights of hotel accommodation within walking distance of the summit venue.
  • Fellows will also receive full summit registration, including access to sessions, food, and beverages throughout the event.
  • In addition, the organisers will provide reimbursements of up to €200 for local transport and other miscellaneous expenses, as well as visa and passport costs up to €200.
  • Selected participants will also be invited to attend the official kick-off reception ahead of the summit, offering early networking opportunities with global health leaders and stakeholders.

They noted that applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis and may close once all available slots are filled, urging interested candidates to apply early.

Applicants are required to submit their applications through an online portal, including a CV, a letter of motivation, and proof of engagement in global health activities such as work experience or advocacy.

  • To be eligible for the participant stipend program, applicants must hold the nationality of and must reside in a low- or middle-income country according to the World Bank categorization for 2025-2026.
  • Eligible candidates must be able to obtain a short-term Schengen visa.
  • They must also demonstrate proficiency in English, the official language of the summit.

Selected fellows will participate in all open sessions of the summit but will not attend as speakers.
