The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday, renamed the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC) after President Bola Tinubu.

While speaking at the commissioning of the edifice by Tinubu in Abuja, Wike said the ‘Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre’ is a world-class structure requiring constant maintenance.
He noted with the permission of the President that anybody who would use the newly renovated ICC must be made to pay irrespective of his or her status

Speaking at the event, Tinubu advised Wike to continue his work and not pay attention to “bystanders and busybodies”.
“Don’t pay attention to the busybody and the bystanders. Whatever they say, continue with your good work. You are a transformational leader. You have the voice, foresight, division, and determination to succeed,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu’s advice comes a week after Wike received clapbacks from various political figures and commentators for his comments on a former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi.
In a media parley, the FCT minister made several critical remarks about Rotimi Amaechi, his predecessor as Governor of Rivers State. Wike described Amaechi as an individual who is hungry for power.
Following the media parley, a former presidential spokesperson and television anchor with Arise News, Reuben Abati, accused Wike of being rude and disrespectful to Amaechi, noting that Amaechi is Wike’s boss in politics.
