Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has explained why he pushed so hard to return to Galatasaray permanently.

Galatasaray made Turkish football history by signing Osimhen from Napoli for a transfer price of 75 million euros.

Osimhen landed in Istanbul on Wednesday night and greeted the yellow-red supporters at Ataturk Airport.

The 26-year-old’s signing ceremony will be held at Rams Park before the Lazio match on Saturday.

Speaking to GSTV, Osimhen said he fought so hard to return to Galatasaray after spending last season on loan at the Turkish Super Lig champions because of the deep connection he has with the club, the city and the people.

“I have a deep connection with this club, this city, these people. That’s why I fought so hard to return here,” Osimhen said.

“I continue to have that feeling, to continue playing with a purpose.

“I want to do what’s best for myself and the fans, and I’m really happy to be here,” he said.
