In recognition of his sterling leadership qualities and outstanding contributions to the development of Ondo State, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, has been named the Ondo State Man of the Year by the Hero Magazine.
At the event held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the award organisers said Mr. Akinterinwa remains an icon and an enigma who has paid his dues and deserves to be recognised and honoured.
This is the second award in three months for Mr. Akinterinwa, who is being touted by political analysts as the most suitable person that can succeed Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu when his term expires in 2024, based on his knowledge of governance of Ondo State, experience as a shrewd financial guru, and investment expert.

It will be recalled that on August 3, 2023, Mr. Akinterinwa was honoured with the Outstanding Leader of Influence Award by The Podium International Magazine. The magazine’s Publisher, Mr. Ademola Akinbola, had stated that Mr Akinterinwa earned the award based on his pedigree and track record as an administrator, leader, Finance expert, and community leader of repute.
