Video: Comedian AY Reacts to Driverless Uber Ride in US

Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has shared his experience boarding a driverless Uber in Atlanta, United States

The entertainer, in a post made via his official Instagram account on Sunday, described the futuristic ride humorously.

He wrote, “I entered Uber in Atlanta… na Jaguar, but driver no dey!, Oyibo don use technology make motor drive itself. Meanwhile, for Africa, our jazz na to dey turn people into yam. When our own juju go upgrade? See you guys at #enish_restaurant tonight in Houston.”

In the accompanying video, AY is seen inside the empty vehicle as it moves, unlocking and starting the ride with his phone.

He says, “When oyinbo dey tell una say dem no be una mate, Una go dey follow him argue follow them, they argue.”

“See, na the car dey drive himself. Na my uber be this. E dey carry me they go. Dem don tell una say dem no be una mate una no wan hear word una go dey do juju. They do different things, they kill people for Africa. I don’t want juju, that will kill people.”

He continued by saying, “I unlocked the car with my phone. Start the ride with my phone. And here we go. On my birthday. So we’re arriving in four minutes, basically. All by myself. No driver. Arriving in four minutes.”

The clip, posted on his birthday, drew reactions from followers who mixed humour with comments on technology and African realities.
