A veteran journalist and former Chief Press Secretary to Prof Ambrose Alli, former governor of Bendel State, Clement Okosun, has died.

A statement by Ms Margret Okoh on behalf of the family and made available to journalists in Benin explained that the late Okosun died on May 20, 2021, at the age of 80.

A 1972 Mass Communication graduate of the University of Lagos, Okosun, the patriarch of the Okosun family of Isua, Uromi, Esan North-East local government area of Edo State also studied law at the University of Benin.

The ex-press secretary was at different times, the Editor of Daily Times and manager, Daily Times Training School, Lagos. He was also the general manager, Nigerian Observer; general manager, Ethiope Publishing, Benin City.

He was also a director in the state Ministry of Education and a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information.

A devoted Christian of the Catholic faith, Okosun is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and relations.
