It would be recalled that the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) held a press conference on the criminal activities of the suspended Oba Adewale Semiu Ogunjobi yesterday, 03/02/2025, at the CDHR Ogun Rights House, CDHR Avenue, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Comrade Yinka Folarin, National Vice President of CDHR, led the press conference, accompanied by the State Executive Committee in Ogun State, led by Comrade Funmi Onifade. The victim, Elder Areola Abraham Love JP, his lawyer, and representatives from various media organizations were in attendance.

Upon receiving the victim’s complaint, the CDHR conducted a thorough analysis of the viral video of the assault, investigated the Oba’s nefarious activities, and examined his history of incessant assaults on individuals.

Following the press conference, the CDHR led the victim to various security agencies in the state, including the DSS and the Nigeria Police Force, to demand justice and timely prosecution of the Oba and his squad.

The CDHR also visited the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government in Ogun, Honourable Ganiyu Hamzat, to commend the ministry for its timely intervention and to press for prompt decisive action on the matter.

The CDHR emphasized the need for further investigations into the Oba’s many atrocities and stressed that the government’s timely action would not only bring justice to the victim but also liberate the entire people of Orile Ifo and his many victims who have been living under bondage.

In a bizarre twist, the Oba offered the victim, Elder Areola Abraham JP, a plot of land in Orile Ifo while with the Police at Eleweeran yesterday as a restitution for his heinous crime. However, the victim outrightly rejected the land offer, instead demanding justice and the liberation of others living under the Oba’s bondage. The victim’s courageous stance is a testament to his commitment to seeking justice and freedom for himself and others.

The police have been proactive and professional in handling the matter, and the CDHR looks forward to the Oba’s day in court. It is also necessary to alert the security agencies to the need to arrest the Oba’s gang members and ensure the safety of the victim.

Investigations have revealed that Oba Adewale Semiu Ogunjobi’s suspected criminal activities were aided by his influence as a former police officer, who retired as a sergeant, as well as his wife, Officer Veronica, who is currently serving at the FCID Alagbon Lagos. This is a clear case of abuse of power and position, and it’s alarming to see how the Oba’s connections have enabled him to carry out his nefarious activities with impunity.
