The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Monday reported 241 new COVID-19 cases from eight states and the Federal Capital Territory. 

The agency also reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths. 

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Tuesday.   

According to data from the agency, Taraba reported the highest figures for new infections with 98 cases. 

Rivers reported 66 cases, Lagos – 35, FCT – 20, Delta – 13, Kwara – 3, Abia – 2, Nasarawa – 2, Plateau – 2. 

The reported 241 new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 252,428 while 227,004 people have recovered and have been discharged.

With two COVID-19 related deaths recorded for the day, the death toll from the virus stands at 3,126. 

The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
