Tragedy in Rivers as Man, Teenage Girl Found Dead Inside Car

Tragedy struck in Mgboushimini community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, after the bodies of a man and a teenage girl were discovered inside a Toyota Corolla.

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the incident and says it has opened investigation to unravel the cause of death.

Police spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, who confirmed the discovery on Monday, October 26, 2026, said detectives have been deployed to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Unofficial reports, however, suggest a possible love triangle.

According to sources, the deceased man’s pregnant wife had allegedly confronted the teenager over an affair with her husband. The couple had reportedly concluded their traditional marriage and were preparing for their white wedding in November 2026.

Police say the cause of death has yet to be ascertained and that autopsy will determine whether it was homicide, suicide or accidental.
