Popular Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress, Tiwatope Savage, known professionally as Tiwa Savage has been invited to perform at the coronation of the British monarch, King Charles III.

The event will be followed by a coronation concert and Big Lunch, which will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023 and award-winning singer, Tiwa Savage, is part of the artistes who will grace the occasion.

The “Somebody’s Son” crooner with the feat, becomes the first Nigerian artiste to receive an invitation to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony.

Tiwa Savage is also the only Nigerian among the few African artistes that were chosen to perform at the historical coronation.

Joining the mother of one to thrill guests at the coronation concert are other ‘A list’ artistes such as Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith and Olly Murs.

King Charles III was born at Buckingham Palace on 14 November 1948 at 9.14pm, by caesarean section, after a 30-hour labour.

His birth was the first of a senior member of the royal family not to be attended by a senior politician – to ensure that the newborn was a genuine descendant of the monarch – since the 17th century.

His first word was said to be “nana”, addressed to his nanny, Mabel Anderson.
