French President, Emmanuel Macron, on Thursday night hosted his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Tinubu, to a private dinner in Paris, the capital of France.
President Tinubu yesterday also held talks in Paris, with Mr. Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose media and digital interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.

The dinner between Tinubu and Macron took place at the  French seat of government, Élysée Palace.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this yesterday in a post on his verified X handle, @onanuga1956.

According to him, the two leaders used the forum to pledge continued bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and France.
Onanuga, in the post, had stated, inter alia: “French President Emmanuel Macron received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a private dinner Thursday night at the Élysée Palace, reflecting the enduring relationship between Nigeria and France and their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.”

Tinubu’s engagement in France is coming in the course of his three-week working vacation which  began on August 30, 2026.
The President had left for London as part of the first leg of his working leave in Europe before arriving in France this week for the concluding part of the vacation.
Relatedly, Onanuga, in a statement disclosed that during the meeting with Bollore, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to development and economic growth, with strong emphasis on job creation for young Nigerians and investment in digitalisation.
Tinubu welcomed the Group’s decision to deepen its localisation in Nigeria, noting that the country’s growing global cultural influence presents an opportunity to bring more production, investment and jobs home.

He said his administration would continue to support investments that expand Nigeria’s creative and digital economy, develop local talent, strengthen infrastructure and position Nigeria as a base for businesses serving Africa and the wider global market.
The Presiden said the Renewed Hope Agenda focuses on creating an economy in which Nigeria’s talent, enterprise, and global cultural reach translate into greater opportunities and improved livelihoods for Nigerians.

Earlier, Bolloré Group confirmed plans to deepen the localisation of its operations in Nigeria across film, entertainment, fibre-optic infrastructure and related sectors.
Bolloré and his executives outlined a series of new investments centred on Nigeria, which they described as the spearhead of Africa’s cultural renaissance, driven by the global success of Nollywood and Afrobeats and the growing international demand for all things Nigerian.
