Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy and Communications, has debunked claims that the president is in France for medical reasons, insisting that Tinubu is on a working visit.

Bwala clarified on Sunday while speaking on Sunday Politics, a programme on Channels Television. He took a swipe at social media users who, according to him, are spreading false information without credible sources.

“Sometimes on social media, somebody will be tweeting, and you don’t even know who the person is—it can be somebody who has mental health issues somewhere,” Bwala said, expressing frustration over the rapid spread of misinformation online.

He stressed that the president is not in France to see a doctor, contrary to the claims making rounds. “The president did not go to France to see a doctor; he’s on a working visit, and we have been publishing his activities,” he added.

Brief Profile of Ademola Akinbola

Ademola AKINBOLA is an author, publisher, trainer, digital marketing strategist, and a brand development specialist with nearly three decades of experience in the areas of branding, communication, corporate reputation management, business development, organizational change management, and digital marketing.

He is the Founder and Head Steward at BrandStewards Limited, a brand and reputation management consultancy. He is also the Publisher of The Podium International Magazine, Ile-Oluji Times, and Who’s Who in Ile-Oluji.

He had a successful media practice at The Guardian, Punch and This Day.

He started his brand management career at Owena Bank as Media Relations Manager before joining Prudent Bank (now Polaris Bank) as the pioneer Head of Corporate Affairs.

The British Council appointed him as Head of Communication and Marketing to co-ordinate branding and reputation management activities at its Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt offices.
