First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful despite rising security challenges in parts of the country, saying the Federal Government, security agencies and international partners are working to address the situation.
Tinubu spoke on May 30th, 2026, during a women’s gathering at the Ekitikete Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, where she reassured residents over insecurity concerns and called for continued faith in government efforts.
According to a statement shared by the Office Of The First Lady on Sunday, she “reassured Nigerians that the country’s security challenges will be surmounted through the efforts of the Federal Government, security agencies and international collaboration.”

The First Lady further “expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to address insecurity, urging Nigerians, especially women, to remain hopeful and prayerful.”
She also reaffirmed her belief “that Nigeria remains a great and blessed nation and that the challenges currently facing the country will soon pass.”
Her remarks come amid security concerns in parts of the country, including reported incidents of attacks and kidnappings in several states, with communities in Oyo, Benue, Borno and other areas continuing to experience repeated attacks affecting civilian life and security.
In one of such incidents referenced, armed men reportedly attacked schools in Ahoro Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on or about May 15, 2026, targeting Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School. During the attack, at least 25 pupils and seven teachers were abducted, while an assistant headmaster was killed, and another teacher later died in captivity.
Meanwhile, at the same event, Senator Tinubu presented a N100 million Business Recapitalisation Grant to 2,000 women petty traders in Ekiti State to support their businesses, families and economic growth.
She also canvassed support for Ekiti State Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the June 20 election, while announcing the empowerment grant for women in the state.
She thanked residents for their support for Oyebanji’s administration and urged them to vote for him in the forthcoming governorship poll.
