Ramsey Nouah, the Nigerian actor and producer, has opened up about his parents’ nationalities, revealing that his father is Lebanese.
In an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask, the 55-year-old film star explained that he speaks Yoruba fluently because his mother hailed from Ondo and he was born and raised in Lagos.
“I speak Yoruba so well because I’m a Yoruba boy. I was born and bred in Lagos. My mum is from Ondo, but I’m mixed-race because my father is Lebanese,” he said.

Nouah started acting in the early 1990s and has since become a household name in the entertainment industry, with several nominations and award wins.
He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a leading role in 2010 for his performance in ‘The Figurine’. He made his directorial debut with ‘Living in Bondage: Breaking Free’ in 2019 and has since gone on to direct other Nollywood films.
Recently, the film star said taking films to the cinema is not a wise financial decision because producers often fail to recover their capital, even after spending heavily on advertising and promotion.
“About only two percent of people would probably make their capital invested like ROI on cinemas. Even with the promotion and all of that, some people still do not get their capital invested,” he said.
