Now that Victor Osimhen is in the country after his transfer row which has ended on a positive note, I expect him to be humble enough to pick up his phone and call Finidi George and simply say, I AM SORRY FOR DISRESPECTING YOU SIR.

Or better still fly to Port Harcourt after the game against Benin Republic since Uyo is close…meet with Finidi, have a quiet conversation with him, tender an apology, have one or two photographs with him and the rest will be history.

This will win more fans to Osimhen and put an end to this lingering saga over his infamous video rant.

We all thought the NFF would handle this matter officially but they chose to sit on the fence. Truth be told, Osimhen hurt millions with his behaviour…and even if some people have chosen to forgive him and let go of his poor conduct in handling the crisis, they still feel he should do the needful by just saying I’M SORRY SIR to Finidi.

We are all humans. To err is human but to forgive is divine. However, before forgiveness, there must be a feeling of remorse, a step of peace and an unreserved apology. No one is bigger than I’M SORRY especially when or if you truly erred. Indeed, Osimhen erred!!!

But if Osimhen and his advisers think otherwise, well, so be it. But history and posterity will record and judge. We cannot pretend that all is well for as long as this issue is concerned. I say this because I feel a sense of love for Osimhen just like millions of Nigerians.

Those who suggest that the matter should be swept under the carpet aren’t doing Osimhen any good. It won’t cost Osimhen anything to call Finidi and tender an apology. In fact, it will attract respect to him, show that he is indeed mature and that he has learnt from his mistake.

Yes, Finidi isn’t demanding for apology and he has moved on but life is a rolling stone. While Osimhen’s transfer saga lasted, literally all Nigerian football stakeholders felt bad, wished him well and prayed for him. Similarly, this issue with Finidi should follow same path as a matter of necessity to all.

Enough said!!!
