Mr Wale Akinterinwa, a frontline Ondo State gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the APC, on Monday formally flagged off his campaign for the primary election with a praise and worship session held in his country home in Ile-Oluji, headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area of the State.
The well-attended event witnessed praise songs, exhortation and prayer for Mr Wale Akinterinwa and Ondo State. Prominent leaders of the APC at the state, local government, and ward levels were at the praise and worship session.
Speaking to The Podium International Magazine after the event, Mr. Akinterinwa disclosed that it was only logical to put God first in his quest to win the primary election and ultimately become the next Governor of the State.
“What we did today was to thank God for how far He has brought us individually and collectively, to commit the journey ahead of us into His hands, and to beseech him to preserve and protect us as we move around the State soliciting for the support of our party members. We also asked God to grant us the desires of our hearts, which is to emerge as the candidate of the APC and to go ahead to win the governorship election”, he said.
Mr. Akinterinwa reiterated his commitment to put all of his knowledge, experience, skills, and talents at the disposal of Ondo State in the task of consolidating the successes of the Aketi administration and charting a new development course for Ondo State.
“You would recall that by the grace of God, I was an active member of the Ondo State cabinet for over seven years. So, I come into this contest with hands on knowledge and experience of what needs to be done to ensure that the renewed hope agenda of the President Tinubu administration is successfully implemented for the benefits of the good people of the State”.
“As the immediate past Finance Commissioner of the State, I was involved in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes that broadened and diversified the revenue base of the state as we grew the IGR reasonably. If I am given the opportunity, first to fly the flag of our great party in the November election, and secondly to become the next Governor of our beloved state, I will bring all these knowledge and experience to bear”, he added.
