Popular Nigerian business mogul, Obinna Iyiegbu, better known as Obi Cubana, has finally regained freedom from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency invited the 46-year-old socialite on Monday over alleged money laundering and tax fraud. He breathed the air of freedom on Thursday evening, November 4, after spending three nights in the commission’s custody.

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Obi Cubana had been released.

During his stay with the EFCC, he was quizzed several times over his alleged involvement in money laundering and tax fraud. Recall that the Anambra-born club owner got into the spotlight in July when he hosted an ostentatious burial for his late mother in Oba, Anambra state.

Earlier, Activist Deji Adeyanju revealed that he warned the businessman to be careful when he became an object of attention on social media.

He added that his warning made people think that he was jealous, adding that Obi is lucky that he was arrested by EFCC and not the FBI. Adeyanju further disclosed that Obi Cubana’s case is not serious for now, but it could get worse.
