A self-acclaimed student leader has sparked online debate after a viral video in which he praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing alleged improvements in student welfare through the Nigerian Education Loan Scheme.
In the video, the student leader also referenced the operations of NELFund, claiming that Nigerian students are benefiting from financial support and policy reforms aimed at easing access to education.
“No Nigerian student is not enjoying Tinubu’s policies” claim
“At this juncture, there is no Nigerian student that will tell you they are not enjoying the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Why? Because of the NELFund, the Nigerian Education Loan.

If you check, each Nigerian student has the ability or each Nigerian student receives about 20,000 Naira every month for pocket money and their fees have been paid.
So you don’t need to be a child of somebody or a child of an elite before you go to school. But with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have had the highest budgetary allocation at the level of education. So why not? One good time deserves another.”
The speaker also linked student mobilisation efforts to political support, urging backing for Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda in upcoming elections.
Political endorsements and campus claims
“So at the level of FCTEA, we are coming out in full force to vote Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda. Why? Because during his time at the level of the Senate, we had numerous policies that were favouring Nigerian students. We had scholarships, we had piliatives.”
He further alleged that Senator Ireti Kingibe has not matched previous interventions on student welfare, while praising past engagements on campuses.
“Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda used to come to our campus to check up on our preferencism, but this has changed that the current Senator, Senator Ireti, has not done. In fact, I think she was just part of the bandwagon. So I believe this time now, people are more sensitised.”
The student leader concluded that voting decisions should be based on competence and ideas rather than political movements, while also praising the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for ongoing projects.
