A fire outbreak occurred on Thursday at a multi-storey building housing a Polaris Bank branch on Broad street in Lagos.
Videos shared on social media showed thick smoke billowing from the building as residents and business owners gathered around the scene.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, were deployed to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjoining buildings.

The cause of the fire had yet to be determined as of the time of filing this report.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Polaris Bank said the fire affected the car park of its Broad street branch and was swiftly brought under control.
The bank said there were no casualties or fatalities, adding that emergency responders acted swiftly to bring the situation under control.
“Following the fire incident at the Car Park of our Broad Street Branch, Lagos, we are pleased to confirm that the situation was swiftly contained and, thankfully, there were no casualties or fatalities,” the statement reads.
“We appreciate the prompt response of emergency services.”
The bank said reports that 34 people were killed in the inferno were misleading.
The bank also urged members of the public to disregard unverified reports circulating on social media and rely on information from credible news platforms and its official communication channels.
“We urge the public to rely only on credible news platform and our official channels for accurate information and disregard false reports circulating online,” the statement added.
