The Super Eagles of Nigeria have retained their Unity Cup title after defeating Jamaica 3-0 in the final at the Valley Stadium in London on Saturday.

A brace from Alhassan Yusuf and a goal from Terem Moffi sealed the trophy for the experimental Super Eagles squad in front of a decent turnout, despite the match overlapping the UEFA Champions League final.

The Eagles are now four-time champions of the invitational mini-tournament. The team won it in the earlier editions in 2002 and two years later. Last year, when the Unity Cup was rebooted after a lengthy hiatus, Nigeria also defeated Jamaica on penalties in the final to win the trophy once again.

For the 2026 final, Eric Chelle made only a single change to the starting line-up that had beaten Zimbabwe 2-0 in the semi-final on Tuesday.

The team went ahead after just three minutes. Yusuf arrived late at the backpost to jab home the opener after the Jamaican goalkeeper failed to parry a header clear off danger.

Nigeria doubled the advantage early in the second half. Femi Azeez, the brace hero of the previous match, dinked his way into the byline before scooping a cross across the Jamaican goalpost. Moffi rose the highest to head home into an open net.

The third goal was the most brilliant of the night. A counterattack started by Philip Otele was plugged to Yusuf, who curled a shot from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner.
