Arsenal are keen to extend Mikel Arteta’s contract.
The Spaniard has been at the helm of the club since December 2019, and his last contract extension was signed in 2024.
Arteta will enter the final year of his deal this summer, and Josh Kroenke has already started talks over an extension.

The Arsenal manager, however, has two demands.
Will Mikel Arteta become Arsenal’s greatest-ever manager?

Mikel Arteta’s two demands to sign a new Arsenal contract
It is a no-brainer for Arsenal to extend Mikel Arteta’s contract.
The 44-year-old has completely transformed the club over the last six years and has helped the Gunners become one of the best teams in the world.
Arteta is on the verge of winning the Premier League title, while Opta claims that Arsenal are the favourites to win the Champions League as well.
BBC Sport have revealed that the decision-makers at the club want the Spaniard to stay, and Arteta is ready to commit too.

However, he has two demands.

The first is a guarantee that the owners will continue to back the side financially, as they have done in recent years, to keep Arsenal competitive.
The second is Arteta’s own salary. The Gunners boss currently earns £10 million a season, with a further £5 million set to be paid as a bonus every time he qualifies for the Champions League.
Currently, only Pep Guardiola (£20m) and Diego Simeone (£25m) are better-paid managers. The report claims that the terms offered to Arteta in terms of pay in his new contract will be ‘a key question’.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that initial discussions have already taken place, and talks have been described as positive.
They are set to continue at the end of the season, as the full focus right now is on Arsenal’s push to win the Premier League and Champions League.

Extending Mikel Arteta’s contract must be Arsenal’s biggest priority
Arsenal have been linked with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Julian Alvarez, and those two signings would elevate the club to a whole new level.
However, none of it would matter if Arteta is not the manager.
Despite the agenda driven by the same pundits and the small yet loud section of the fan base, the Spaniard is the reason why Arsenal are so good today.
Yes, we all want trophies, and there is a good chance that the Gunners will win the Premier League and perhaps even the Champions League this season.
But even if they don’t, we don’t think there’s a better manager on the planet to lead Arsenal than Arteta. He is the man, and the Kroenkes should give him whatever he wants to make sure he stays.
