Prof Adenike Temidayo Oladiji was born on 27th April 1968. She attended Christ Anglican School, Ijomu-Oro, and Iludun Oro Nursery and Primary School between 1972 and 1977. She had her secondary education at St. Claire’s Anglican Grammar School, Offa from 1977 to 1982.

Prof. Oladiji obtained B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 1988, 1991, and 1997 respectively. She had further training at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (MASHAV program), the Canadian Institute for Innovation Development (CANDIDEV), Calgary Alberta, Canada, and the African Leadership Institute, Dayton Ohio, USA.

She was an exchange Scholar of the Association of African Universities at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. The erudite scholar joined the services of the University of Ilorin in July 1992 as an Assistant Lecturer and was appointed a Professor in September 2011. Before joining the University, she worked as a Research and Development Officer at Kwara Breweries Limited, Offa.

With over 29 years of continuous service in the university system, Prof. Adenike Oladiji has mentored many doctoral students and supervised to completion of many doctoral theses. She has held various positions and served on many University Committees as Chairman or Member. She was Head of Department; Sub Dean of Faculty; Deputy Director, the Centre for International Education; Director, Centre for Research Development and In-House Training (CREDIT); Director, Central Research Laboratories; Coordinator, U6 Consortium (a consortium of six universities across Africa); Dean, School Of Basic Medical Sciences (Kwara State University, Malete); Coordinator, Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office, University of Ilorin; Board Member, Technology Incubation Centre, Ilorin: Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences and Member, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Nassarawa and Crown Hill University, Eiyenkorin, Ilorin.

A prolific researcher with over 100 publications, Prof. Oladiji has won many distinctions and awards, which include the University’s Merit Award, Certificate of Merit, and scholarships, among others. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science and Fellow, the Nigerian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She has served as Chairman or Member of many accreditation panels of the National Universities Commission (NUC), a Member, of the Research and Development Standing Committee of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), the JAMB Committee on Internationalisation of Tertiary Education, and has been an external examiner in over 20 universities nationally and internationally.

She is an Advisory Board Member of C.G. Bhakta Institute of Biotechnology, Uka Tarsadia University, Maliba campus, Bardoli, India, and Director of Administration, Association of West Africa Universities (AWAU). Professor Oladiji has attracted research grants for research, institutional development, and capacity building. She has attended and presented many keynote/ lead papers in national and international conferences. She is a Member of many professional bodies including West Africa Research and Innovation Management (WARIMA), the American Society of Nutrition, the Organization for Women in Science for Developing World (OSWD), the Science Association of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology.

Prof. Adenike Oladiji is a sports lover, and an award winner in Badminton, serving as Captain of Unilorin Veteran Badminton Club. She is happily married and blessed with children.
