Liverpool have officially appointed Andoni Iraola as their new head coach, replacing Premier League-winning manager Arne Slot.
Despite guiding the Reds to the 2024-25 Premier League title, Slot was relieved of his duties after a disappointing second season in charge. Liverpool narrowly secured Champions League qualification, finishing just three points ahead of Iraola’s Bournemouth side, who ended the campaign in sixth place.
Iraola leaves Bournemouth after an impressive three-year tenure on the South Coast, during which he led the club to European qualification for the first time in its history.

The Spaniard has now taken over at Anfield, signing a two-year contract as Liverpool begin a new chapter under his leadership.
“Really excited, really excited,” Iraola told Liverpoolfc.com.
“Because obviously you know about Liverpool, you know that it’s a big club, a massive club, one of the biggest in the world.
“But feeling inside and understanding a little bit more of this club, I always thought it’s a special club.
“You don’t need a lot of things to get attracted by Liverpool. Liverpool is Liverpool.
“But obviously the atmosphere, the supporters, the club, the players, the chance for me to coach top-level players, the chance to fight for titles. I think it cannot be more attractive than this. It’s difficult to find it. So, really excited to start.”
