The life and time of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu from how he rose from being a governor to the president-elect of the country has been captured in motion picture. The soon-to-be-released biopic, ‘Jagaban: Last Man Standing,’ according to the lead character, Adedimeji Lateef premieres in May 2023, the same month the president-elect would be sworn in as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The story plot started when Mr. Tinubu became governor and the challenges he faced as a governor. The movie also highlights his academic controversies (Chicago), local government issues, and the Fashola debacle, up to the time Mr. Buhari became president. Adedimeji in a birthday message to Mr. Tinubu, on Wednesday, confessed it was an honour relaying the former’s remarkable story while wishing him success in office.

“It was an honour relaying your remarkable story in the movie, ‘Jagaban: Last Man Standing,’ Lateef said, “As we prepare to premiere the movie in May 2023, we take the opportunity to wish you a peaceful and successful time in office as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Happy Birthday sir, God’s wisdom and mercies remain with you now and always.”

Adedimeji also dedicated his role as Jagaban to Bola Ahmed, while revealing the premiere date of the new movie. He wrote: “At this point, please feel free to call me The King of Biopic. From Ayinla to Ige (unlikely oil merchant) to Strangers to Jagaban (Last Man Standing). Produced by Seun Oloketuyi, ‘Jagaban: The Last Man Standing’ seeks to entertain.

Adedimeji has played lead roles in several biopics in the past including ‘Ayinla’, and ‘Ige’. Earlier on his choice of roles, he said: “I really don’t know why I am always called upon to play these roles; this is going to be my fourth biopic. I did Ayinla, Ige, Strangers, and now this. I believe it is the versatility and being able to key into other people and bring the character to life that is you being an actor, studying other people and ensuring that you can drop you at a time you need to play them and bring them into reality.”
