A UK-based Nigerian man has taken to social media to narrate how his age hindered him from securing a job in Nigeria.
The young man, identified as Taofik, took to the microblogging platform, Twitter, to share how he was unable to qualify for a grad role despite being a first-class graduate of Unilag.
According to him, he had gotten his degree, Bsc in finance, at the age of 28 and had repeatedly found it difficult to secure a job in Nigeria because of his age.
Fortunately for him, he was able to move to UK where he secured a top job despite his age.
He now works at Bloomberg London office as a sales analyst covering Europe and US corporates.
He ended his narration with a positive statement that if Nigeria doesn’t value you, another country will.
In his words;
“At 28, finished first class, BSc in Finance from Unilag but couldn’t qualify for a grad role in Nigeria due to age factors.
At 32, Now working at Bloomberg London office as a sales analyst covering Europe and US corporates. If Nigeria doesn’t value you another country will.”
