How I Prayed Before Marrying Adesua Etomi — Banky W

Nigerian singer and actor Banky W has opened up about his love journey with his wife, actress Adesua Etomi, sharing how faith, patience, and timing played key roles in their relationship.

Speaking during an interview with Teju Babyface, Banky W revealed that he was convinced Adesua was the woman he wanted to marry, even when she had not reached the same conclusion.

He said after several attempts and emotional setbacks, he chose to step back and leave the matter in God’s hands.

“I was like, I’m not talking to her again. Maybe because of all the hearts I have broken, God has now sent somebody to break my heart.

I went to God and said, ‘I feel like this is my wife, but she can’t see it. If you want us together, go and tell her.

I vowed that if she didn’t come to that conclusion herself, I would not bring it up again,” he said.

According to him, things eventually changed when Adesua reached out with clarity about their relationship.

“Banky, you know you’re my husband, right?”

He noted that he had already been emotionally prepared, saying he had known her for about a year and a half while waiting for her to come to the same realization.

“I’ve known for a year and a half, I’ve just been waiting for you to catch up,” he added.

Report shows that Adesua Etomi also reflected on their marriage, saying their bond remains strong even after nearly 10 years together. She noted that they still show affection naturally in simple ways like holding hands and sleeping with their feet touching.

She also shared that before marriage, she had specific expectations about the kind of partner she wanted, but ended up with a man who embodies more than she asked for.
