Dr. Adetoyosi Olutosin Daniels was born in the 60s to the illustrious family of Chief Adedimeji (Jawando) and Chief Mrs Adefunke Adewakun of Ile-Oluji, Ondo State.
Education & Qualifications
She started her academic career at Local Authority Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and proceeded to Gboluji Grammar School for her secondary education. She had a brief stint at Holy Saviour’sHigh School, Ile-Oluji where she obtained her WAEC result. She later proceeded to Ondo State University (Now Ekiti State University) where she obtained her B.Sc. in 1993, M.Sc. (2012), and Ph.D (2018) all in Microbiology. She was posted to International Breweries, Ilesa, Osun State, as a youth Corp member where she worked in the quality control laboratory.
Career History
Following her dedication, professionalism, hard work, and commitment, she was retained as a Microbiologist in the Microbiology laboratory where she worked until December 2005. During her stay at International Breweries, Ilesa was the branch Secretary of the Senior Staff Association of Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Employees. Dr Daniels later took up an appointment with Novus Nigeria Limited, Lagos as the General Manager with the overall responsibility for the daily management of operations of the company.
Due to her love for academics, during her sojourn in International breweries, Dr. Daniels had four academic publications from the research she carried out using waste material from the industry. She later worked at Shalom Christian College, Ibadan, and Rhema Chapel International College, Ibadan as a tutor and Head of Department.
The stint at Achievers University
She joined the services of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, in 2014 as Lecturer II. She specialises in Medical and Pathogenic Microbiology and teaches courses in her field. She became the First Female Acting Head of the Department of Biological Sciences and served for two academic sessions after which she became the first female Acting Dean of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences from 2019 till date. As the Dean of the college, Dr. Daniels motivated her colleagues to organize the first and second successful international science conferences that attracted academia from different parts of the world in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
Honours & Awards
Dr Adetoyosi Daniels has several awards to her name part of which is the award presented by the Chairman of the council and Pro-chancellor of Achievers University, Hon. Dr Bode Ayorinde as a dedicated Staff of the University (2022). Other awards are, but are not limited to The Amazing Mother of the College (2022) and Outstanding Microbiologist of the Year (2020).
As an astute academic and researcher, Dr. Daniels is visible on Research Gate, Academia Edu, Linked In, and Google Scholar with high ratings. As an administrator, Dr. Daniels is a great team player, a compassionate leader, and a firm but understanding superordinate. Dr. A.O. Daniels also received several letters of commendation from the Senate of Achievers University in recognition of her dedication and commitment to work. Research Works/Publications
An accomplished academic, Dr. Daniels has published over 40 academic articles in scientific journals. She is a member of over seven Journals reviewer committees, and she serves as the Executive Editor of Achievers Journal of Scientific Research (AJOSR). She has also attended over 8 conferences and personally presented papers at over eight conferences.
Dr. Daniels has attained the position of Associate Professor. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and researching. She is married with two beautiful children and a cute and amazing granddaughter.
