Gunmen Abduct LG Worker, filling Station Attendant in Ondo

Gunmen have abducted Samson Gbenga Sanni, a staff member of Akure north LGA in Ondo state.

According to witnesses, Sanni, popularly known as ‘Timber’, was abducted at about 7:10pm on Sunday at his residence in the Agbelere area of the Ilu-Abo community in Akure north LGA.

He was reportedly seized and whisked away by three assailants in the presence of his wife and two children shortly after returning from work.

The attackers were said to have laid an ambush for Sanni in a nearby bush before striking.

Olayinka Ayanlade, spokesperson of the Ondo state police command, confirmed the attack and said operatives and tactical teams had been deployed to the area to secure Sanni’s rescue and arrest those responsible.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a female filling station attendant was abducted by suspected gunmen in the Emure-Ile area of Owo LGA.

Sources said the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, when the attackers took the victim to an unknown destination.
