The Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola- Sanwo-Olu has started a phase out of Okada riders menace from Lagos. By the end of this month the governor is rolling out 500 buses to ply the nooks and crannies of the city.
Governor Sanwo-Olu speaking at the 3rd Session of the 34th Synod of the Diocese of Lagos Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion sounded a serious warning to Okada riders to start packing their cycles from the street of Lagos.
More especially he said those riding their okadas against the traffic would have them confiscated for life.
The governor said : As I speak over 1000 okadas had been seized around his official residence at Island in Lagos.
He promised to make Lagos one of the best cities in transportation in the next few months. To actualise this he said a modern rail system first of it’s kind in the world would be in operation by the end of next year.
