Two senior officials from the French Embassy in Abuja—Magaly Losange, Attachee on French Cooperation, and Dr. Chloe Pellegrini, sociologist—visited the Department of Foreign Languages at the Lagos State University (LASU), where the French programme is located.

The primary objective of their visit was to assess the standards of the French program and explore potential partnership opportunities between the French Embassy and the Department in the area of training.

Following their departmental visit, the officials met with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, in her office.

They were warmly welcomed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan, who highlighted the esteemed reputation of the French program within the university and expressed LASU’s eagerness to collaborate with the French Embassy.

Accompanying the guests during their visit to the Vice-Chancellor were Prof. Ayo Ayodele, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Tayo Ajayi, Director of the Centre for the Actualisation of the SDGs and a professor in the department; Dr. Adetola, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages; along with other members of the department.
