The Federal Government has suspended the Postmaster-General of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), Ismail Adewusi.

Sources at the NIPOST and the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy told our reporter on Thursday that Adewusi was suspended over issues around the contentious stamp duty and alleged financial misappropriations.

The sources also said Adewusi was in a superiority tussle with some members of the NIPOST board “and this contributed to his suspension too”.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has approved the appointment of Barrister Bulus Samuila Yakubu as acting Postmaster-General of the Federation/CEO.

Bulus, a Bachelor’s Degree holder from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, joined NIPOST in 1990.

Bulus hails from Takum Town in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
