Fire Engulfs Lagos Airport Terminal 2

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says a fire incident has occurred at the terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Sunday.

In a statement on Sunday, FAAN said there has been no recorded casualties or loss of life.

“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos,” the statement reads.

“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation.

“There have been no reported casualties or loss of life.

“Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”

On February 23, a fire outbreak occurred at the terminal one of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Two days after, Farouk Umar, managing director (MD) of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), said the fire incident at the terminal completely affected its air-to-ground communication.
