A former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for complaining about the outcome of the 2023 presidential elections.
The PDP has complained of electoral malpractices and staged a walkout from the Independent National Electoral Commission collation centre in Abuja on Monday.
Fayose in a statement on Monday night said that the PDP had no moral right to cry foul.
The former governor is an ally of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who coordinates the G5 Governors-the PDP governors that refused to work for Atiku’s success in the 2023 elections.
While commending the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, for his uncommon and unprecedented outing and performance in the election, he said the PDP should have known that this would be the result of its arrogance and sense of entitlement.
Recall that Fayose in November last year predicted more turbulence for the PDP, urging the party to resolve its internal crisis before it snowballed into a major crisis and become messier in the days ahead.

“I commend the courage and resilience of the Labour Party Presidential candidate HE. Peter Obi, for his uncommon and unprecedented outing and the outcome of this election.
“It’s not unexpected going by the support he enjoys with Nigerians. However, I cannot but berate The People’s Democratic Party which has no moral right to cry foul. They obviously knew this was going to be the outcome and possibly the end of their arrogance and sense of entitlement, especially knowing the current managers of the party were the 2015 traitors.
“Life they say what goes round comes round. Beyond this, Does the PDP want to win an election with a fractured Party? Kwankanso, Obi, etc were driven out of the party and they claim they can win without the G5 governors. ‘ Almighty’ Iyorchia Ayu National Chairman lost his ward and Local government to another party after cashing out like a man struck and stuck with poverty.
“Turning around to cry foul has no place with Nigerians. Not at all. The election is a process and those not satisfied can vent their anger in court. It’s time to allow Nigeria and Nigerians to move on. If you think Nigerians love or still want PDP as an alternative, by now the message is instructive.
“PDP needs to be told that the sympathy of Nigerians is not for the party. No sense of comradeship with Obi will work. You knew his potential but thought he did not deserve the party’s ticket and you eased him out.
“Today he has retired all of you. Our candidate HE. Atiku Abubakar aka ‘Atiku is coming’ should accept defeat in maturity and retire peacefully to Dubai.
