G5 mastermind and Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike is working for Bola Tinubu to coast to victory in the presidential ballot, says Isaac, the younger brother of former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Isaac is close to his brother, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who does not support its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar because of his support for Iyorchia Ayu as the party’s National Chairman.

Therefore, Isaac may be speaking the mind of his brother who belongs to the PDP Integrity Group of which the G5 is part.

“It’s almost election day. Labour Party (LP) and support groups for Peter Obi need to consolidate in SS, MD (Especially Plateau, Benue), Ondo, Lagos, Kaduna, Taraba. These are the strong regions to get high numbers,” Isaac wrote on his Facebook page, per Vanguard.

“The SE needs to show its hands massively.

“For SS: Wike is working for BAT [Bola Ahmed Tinubu], there is a heavy propaganda going on in Akwa Ibom, Okowa is ready for war in Delta, Bayelsa needs a structure to convert, Edo is certain.

“BAT is playing a victim in the SW, and unfortunately, it’s working.”

Tinubu has bought Wike with his bullion van, PDP alleges

Isaac’s post seems to corroborate the claim by Abiye Sekibo, Rivers PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Director General, that Tinubu has used his bullion van to buy and pocket Wike.

He said Wike bends over backward to ensure the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate at the ballot box in a letter he wrote to Wike on February 1.

Sekibo, former Transportation Minister, was reacting to the withdrawal of the approval given to the PCC to use the stadium in Port Harcourt for its presidential campaign on 11 February.

He alleged Wike has directed members of his cabinet, council Chairmen, his aides, and party executives at all levels to support Tinubu.

“Our attention has been drawn to your letter with reference number MOS/C/409/S49/T/17 dated January 31, 2023, and addressed to … Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, who has minuted the said letter to us for our reaction,” Sekibo wrote.

“You stated that credible intelligence available to the Government of Rivers State and recent developments now shows that our presidential campaign organisation is working in collaboration and cohort with a faction of the APC in Rivers State led by Tonye Patrick Cole and that it is the intention of our campaign organisation to accommodate and share the approved facility for our campaign with the said faction of the APC.”

PDP has nothing to do with APC, says Sekibo

“We wish to state as follows in reply: We completely deny your assertion as patently false and perverse and we believe that our highly respected security agencies cannot furnish you with such untrue and unfounded lies,” Sekibo said in the letter.

“That the PDP Presidential Campaign Council has nothing whatsoever to do with the APC in Rivers State.

“That it is appalling and highly preposterous for you or anyone to assume that the PDP and APC could jointly hold an event in the same venue.

“We believe that the only reason for this cancellation is [your] notice of our massive mobilisation and total acceptance of … Atiku Abubakar as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the people of River State.

“However we are rather aware by credible information reaching us that [you have] directed all Local Government Council Chairman, Special Advisers, Commissioners, Party Executives at the state, local government, and ward levels, and all other appointees of yours to work for the APC presidential candidate … Bola Ahmed Tunibu even though you have not had the courage to announce same to the people of Rivers State.

“Your general public utterances, innuendos and conduct have pointed to the fact that you are bent on frustrating and if possible, preventing the emergence of … Atiku … as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Finally, your involvement in the so-called G5 is the height of anti-party activity.

“It is therefore surprising that you are now accusing us of hobnobbing with the APC faction in River State.”
