 Talk of making a visible and noticeable impact, as well as adding value, Engr. (Dr.) Janet Febisola Adeyemi (Nee Adepoju) perfectly fits the bill. She has her footprints in various national and international milestone projects, especially in the areas of Engineering, Geology, Law, Entrepreneurship, and Philanthropy. She was a one-term member of the House of Representatives. An indigene of Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Engr. Adeyemi is the CEO of Jabridep, a multi-sectoral engineering services company, as well as the Founder/National President of Women in Mining (WIM) Nigeria, among other pioneering roles.

She is one of the most influential women in mining, and she founded Women in Mining Nigeria which has grown in membership to 5000 since 2004 with diverse groups of women from ASM to traders, jewelers, and career professionals and women of varied educational backgrounds. She is a recipient of the 100 inspirational women in the world in mining by U.K WIM 2018 award/Global Chair for Nigeria on Sustainable Mining (ESG).

She is a seasoned international development professional, water resources and environmental engineer with experience in topics at the nexus of environment, sustainable development, smart innovations, climate change, mining, gender, and poverty reduction, covering Africa, America, Europe and Asia. Her recent job was as a lead consultant on the ESIA of Ondo State multipurpose deep seaport.

She served as a legislator in the Federal House of Representatives, in Nigeria, and worked in the executive arm as Presidential Aide to three Presidents in Nigeria. She served as a member on the board of the Infrastructural Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Vice President of Newday Cement Company, and Vice–President of McCrory Engineering, USA.

She is committed to strategic development and digital training which she coordinates through the Women in Mining Training Institute, WIMTI, and determined to mainstream the younger generation of girls through her pipeline digital project tagged Girls4Mining. Mrs. Adeyemi holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Loughborough University of Technology, and a Ph.D. from British Columbus University. She is widely read with a robust educational background that spans geology, engineering, law, mining, and governance

She is the Founder, Succour for Battered Lives (SUBATEL), a charity organisation fending for victims of aggression and violence.

Her career experience spans over 40 years of working in various capacities at top-notch organisations. Her broad-based educational qualifications which include a Law degree from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Grant writing from the University of Houston, Texas, USA, Gender and Mining Governance from UNDP, IISD& IGF put her in good stead to perform optimally everywhere she has worked. She trained as a Human Rights Consultant at the US Institute for Diplomacy and Human Rights, and Tulane University in New Orleans.
