Eid-el-Fitr: APC Urges Nigerians to Sustain Prayers for Peace, Unity

The All Progressives Congress has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah, on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, urging citizens to uphold the virtuous values of Ramadan—charity, obedience, and self-reflection while fostering peace, unity, and progress across the nation.

APC, in a statement through its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged Nigerians on Friday to use Eid-el-Fitr to show kindness and support to the needy and less fortunate.

The statement partly read, “The All Progressives Congress heartily rejoices with Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah, on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

“A major Islamic festival to express gratitude to Allah for strength during the holy month of Ramadan, Eid-el-Fitr marks the successful completion of the month-long fasting, spiritual reflection and obedience.

“It symbolises spiritual renewal and fosters family and community bonds through charity, prayer, fellowship and peaceful coexistence.

“As we celebrate, we urge Nigerians to sustain their prayers for peace, unity and progress of our dear nation, while upholding the virtuous essence of Ramadan, including penitence, sacrifice and obedience.”

The ruling party expressed hope that the prayers would foster peace and unity across Nigeria.

It continued, “The occasion of Eid-el-Fitr also beckons on us to reach out to the needy and less privileged around us with kindness, love and fellowship.

“May the  prayers and sacrifices of the faithful bring more peace and unity to  our country as we work together for enduring progress and shared prosperity.”
