The EFCC has handed over N1.054bn to 659 disengaged staff of the Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board.
The Gombe Zonal Directorate presented the bank draft on Thursday, according to EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale.
Acting Zonal Director Austine Adache said the recovery shows the Commission’s commitment to restitution of funds to rightful owners.

—Background—
– The affected teachers were employed in 2012 and worked 29 months in secondary schools across Adamawa
– In 2014, the state government declared their appointments illegal
– The workers sued at the National Industrial Court in Yola/Jos and won an order for payment of entitlements
– The state failed to comply, leading to garnishee proceedings
– A petition was filed to EFCC in 2024 by Abraham B. Song. EFCC said it received intelligence of potential misapplication of the funds, moved to preserve them, and then recovered them.
Counsel to beneficiaries Luka Musa Haruna, SAN, who received the draft on their behalf, and petitioner Song commended the EFCC.
