On April 12, Dr (Mrs) Titilola Tokun (nee Akinbola), a proud alumna of Gboluji Grammar School, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, and the University of Ibadan; a retired Director of Education in the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Ibadan, celebrated her 65th birthday. It was a moderate but decent event put together by the children, and well attended by family and friends.
Reflecting on the milestone birthday, Dr Tokun gave God all the glory, and thanked the Almighty for His faithfulness and unending steadfast love. “Here we are celebrating another year of God’s love and goodness. I am happy to be alive, hale and hearty. I have always been a beneficiary of God’s mercies. I cannot lay claim to any geniusness, it has been God all the way. I thank my children for celebrating me, and I appreciate my siblings, family and friends who graced the occasion”.
“When I look back at the journey of my life, I cannot but thank God for coming through each time I was at my wit’s end, and it seemed there was no way forward. I believe in working hard and walking on the path that God has ordained. We cannot achieve anything in life unless and except God approves it. So, this birthday is really another opportunity to celebrate the faithfulness of God”.
