Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has called on retired military officers to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, saying the president deserves a second term to complete his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Musa made the call in Abuja while receiving a delegation of Military Veterans and Comrades for PBAT2027 led by National Coordinator Elder Kenneth Siza and members of its National Executive Committee.
*“Take mobilisation to the grassroots”*
The minister described the meeting as a significant step in strengthening veterans’ participation in mobilising support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 polls.

“As we prepare for the 2027 election, we must all work hard together. I’m happy because of the calibre of people behind this organisation. I have agreed to be your Grand Patron, after all I am also a veteran. Take your mobilisation to the grassroots, that is the local government and ward levels,” Musa said.
He said President Tinubu has done well for the country and deserves a second term to consolidate ongoing reforms.
*Veterans group expands nationwide network*
Siza said the visit highlights the growing influence of Military Veterans and Comrades for PBAT2027, a platform uniting veterans, retired military personnel and patriotic citizens behind national development, security, economic growth and political stability.
“Today, many of these veterans are once again stepping forward—this time as ambassadors of civic engagement, grassroots mobilisation, and democratic participation,” he said.
He noted that the group has continued to expand its network across states and local government areas, encouraging veterans and their families to become active participants in shaping the nation’s future through advocacy, community outreach and stakeholder engagement.
*Veterans pledge support for PBAT2027*
The organisation said its engagement with the defence minister shows commitment to constructive dialogue with key national institutions and reinforces its focus on veterans’ welfare, national unity and security consciousness.
“As the countdown to 2027 gradually begins, Military Veterans and Comrades for PBAT2027 remain determined to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts, strengthen membership structures, expand stakeholder engagement, and rally support for the continuation of policies and reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” Siza added.
He expressed confidence that with unity and collective action, military veterans will continue to play a pivotal role in advancing national development and contribute meaningfully to the success of the PBAT2027 project.
