Valentin Barco is having a superb season at our sister club Strasbourg, which inevitably means he’s now been linked to us.

In this case it’s a deal we can actually see happening. Caught Offside have an exclusive which claims that the “deal is nearly done” to bring in Valentin Barco from our sister club Strasbourg. The 21 year old former left back has been converted to a midfielder and looks absolutely superb on the ball for the French side.
Barco could be brought in as Enzo replacement
With Enzo Fernandez now being linked with moves away, it seems his countryman is being considered as a potential replacement. Liam Rosenior worked with Barco at Strasbourg, although whether the manager will still be here next season is another question.
As a midfielder, we would actually see Barco a little deeper than Enzo usually plays for us, and he’d take on more of a Romeo Lavia role in the squad. It will be very interesting to see how he copes in English football, having already had one spell with Brighton.
