Dangote Offers LASU First-class Engineering Graduates Jobs after NYSC

First-class engineering graduates of Lagos State University (LASU) will be offered employment opportunities at the Dangote Group after completing their National Youth Service Corps programme, Aliko Dangote announced on Wednesday.

Dangote, represented by his daughter, Fatimah Dangote, made the announcement during the university’s 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies held at the Buba Marwa Auditorium on the main campus in Ojo.

The announcement was made as 20,604 graduands received their degrees during the combined convocation, which also featured the conferment of honorary degrees on Dangote and two other distinguished Nigerians.

Fatimah said the Dangote Group remained committed to supporting education and developing young Nigerian talents, adding that the employment opportunity would enable outstanding engineering graduates to begin their professional careers with the company.

She encouraged the graduating students to remain committed to excellence and continue developing the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies as they prepare to enter the workforce.

The offer was announced alongside other recognitions and support for outstanding students at the ceremony, including a N20 million cash gift each announced by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for LASU’s best graduating students for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.

The beneficiaries are Ayilara Lawal Olawale, who graduated with a first-class degree in Project Management Technology with a 4.96 CGPA in the 2024/2025 session, and Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, who graduated with a first-class degree in Aerospace Engineering with a 4.97 CGPA in the 2025/2026 session.

The employment offer underscores the growing partnership between industry and academia in creating opportunities for high-performing graduates, particularly in engineering and other fields critical to Nigeria’s economic and technological development.
