The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arraigned two children of a deceased Abuja businessman, Adimike Godwin, alongside another suspect before the FCT High Court over the alleged killing of the businessman in the Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The defendants, identified as Adimike Anthony, Adimike Stephany and Comfort Ajibade, are facing a four count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy to commit culpable homicide, culpable homicide and offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
The court adjourned the case until September 30, 2026, and ordered that the three defendants be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.

Confirming the development in a statement on Monday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the incident occurred on May 15 after police received a distress call from a relative of the deceased, who reported that he could no longer reach him.
According to her, detectives who responded to the scene found Adimike Godwin unconscious in his room with multiple stab wounds.
She said the victim was immediately rushed to Karu General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
Adeh disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, directed a thorough investigation into the case, which led to the arrest of five suspects, including the deceased’s two children, another suspect, his driver and the gateman.
She explained that following the conclusion of investigations, only Anthony, Stephany and Ajibade were charged before the court.
The police spokesperson said the three defendants were jointly charged with conspiracy to commit culpable homicide and culpable homicide over the death of the businessman.
She added that Anthony was separately charged with allegedly entering into a same sex civil union, while Stephany and Ajibade were jointly charged with the same offence under the provisions of the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
Adeh stated that the court ordered the defendants to remain in custody at the Suleja Correctional Centre pending the next hearing scheduled for September 30.
She reaffirmed the FCT Police Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for victims of crime while upholding the constitutional rights of all persons throughout the judicial process.
